Daddy took me in to see Mom at work today. They said something about Friday the 13th blah blah good day blah Valentine’s Day blah blah.. All I know is I saw my mom in the middle of the day and it was fun! Well, ok..not “fun fun” because there were no monkeys there, but “fun” because Mom was there. Some of her coworkers were very excited to see me. One of them kept calling me her “boyfriend” (yuck) and I found out that Mom always sends her pictures of me. I got embarrassed by this and tried to cover my face with a cloth because I was blushing. Mom’s friend Rick works in her building so he came up to visit with me too. Mom says, “remember Rick?” No, I don’t. But he was pretty cool and talked to me like a grown-up. Mom had to work a little bit while I was there, so I helped her out. She said I was her sanity check. I’m not sure what that means but since she was using spell check a lot, I guess it’s like that. She sure has a lot of papers on her desk. There was barely any space to change me but luckily we made room. And, I was grateful we closed the door so no one walked in while my diaper was off!
Although I enjoyed visiting Mom at work, it really reinforced my desire to be a monkey trainer. I just can’t imagine sitting in front of a computer all day.

Monkey See, Monkey Do
I have decided what I want to be when I grow up…a Monkey Trainer!! I’ve thought about this for at least a week now and I know that this is what I want to do with my life. Monkeys are just so cool; I can’t imagine doing anything else. I always know what they’re thinking and they listen to me when I talk to them. One of them, I call him Donkey Kong, wears bright colors and swings above me on my play mat. Another one, Happy Monkey, makes a great noise when I shake him. My third favorite is Shaggy Monkey because he doesn’t mind when I suck on his head. Today I gathered up all of my monkey friends around me and told them about my plans, and I can tell they were just as excited as I am about my dream. I need to go talk to mom and dad now about which preschool has the best monkey trainer program.

My New Digs
So I’m out on my own! That’s right, I finally convinced my parents that it was time to sleep in my own room. They didn’t want to let me go, but I told them that just because I was getting my own room didn’t mean I loved them any less and that I would still visit all the time. Like every day. I mean, I’m four and a half months old, it’s time! Honestly, I love my parents, especially when they blow raspberries on my belly, but they need to give me some space. Sometimes I think parents just don’t understand, you know what I’m saying? I told them that even though I loved sleeping in the same room with them they were always waking me up when they came to bed. My parents stay up until nine or ten every night, can you believe it? They must be some kind of party animals.
They had been promising me for most of my life that I was going to get my own room soon, but they always put if off to another day. First it was, “after the holidays” then it was, “after Grandma Janet leaves” (hi Grandma! I still wear the daisy hat you gave me every day!). Well, you know how parents are, finally I had to put my foot up and point out that Grandma Janet had been gone for three days! So, they finally gave me my own room, and I’m sure they’ll miss me, but it’s time to let me go out on my own and find my place in the world.

Triple Threat
My dad took me to my doctor appointment on Thursday and we found out that I am 12lb. 6 oz. and 23 inches long. Using the math lesson that Grandpa Salvi gave me awhile back, and all my fingers and toes, I was able to figure out that I'm exactly 3 times the size as when I was born. If I keep growing this much I'll be as big as Dad by the time I'm 1! Dad took this photo of me right after they weighed me...

Hawkobo's iBaby Blog
It has been a really busy couple of weeks, I don’t know where to begin. The biggest news is that Mom went back to work a week and a half ago so that’s been a big adjustment. I’m still not sure what’s going on, but every morning she gets up earlier than she was before and says, “I’m sorry I have to go to work”. For the first couple of days a nice lady was coming to stay with me. She called me Jacobo, which sounds like Hawkobo. She says that’s how you pronounce my name in Spanish.
Then all of a sudden Grandma Janet showed up! I was really surprised to see her because I know that she lives far away. She watched me a lot last week and we had a really fun time together. She would make me laugh and smile by blowing on my belly. At first it felt very strange, but she was laughing so much I figured it must be a good thing, and then it started to tickle. I heard her tell my daddy they were called “raspberries” so I kept looking for something on my belly but then nothing would be there.
Sometimes my dad would stay home with us too and then the three of us would go on little trips together. One day we went to this big place called the “Academy of Sciences” where we saw a rain forest and fish and a dinosaur and my favorite place of all –the planetarium. Oh boy that was exciting!! It looked like a big room, kind of like our living room, but way bigger. Everywhere I looked there were sparkling lights. People were talking and every time I turned my head something would shoot across the screen. I’ve never seen anything like it. I couldn’t even talk afterwards I was so amazed. I kept thinking of how small I am and how much more there is to see.
Then one day, when mom was home again, the four of us went up to see Grandpop and Nana Smith. On the way there we stopped and had lunch in a town and it was so sunny that I got a new hat. I think I might have this hat for the rest of my life it is so big. We also went to another place called a “winery” but they wouldn’t let me have anything to drink there. Maybe next year I will be old enough.
Grandma Janet left today and I was really sad. I cried a lot after she left. I think I made my dad nervous because he will be taking care of me all by himself for awhile, but I was so sad I just couldn’t stop. I hope Grandma Janet knows how much fun I had with her. I promise I’ll be better for my dad too starting tomorrow since I got all my cries out today.
Here are some recent photos my parents took with their new iPhones. They are always talking about how cool their iPhones are, and before that they talked about how great iTunes was. I hope that someday I can become an iBaby.

A Trip of Firsts
We have been back from Indiana for 4 days now, and I’m finally getting time to blog about the trip! I have been a little tired and grumpy and just didn’t feel like writing. My parents keep saying something about “jet lag” but I don’t get that since the jet went really fast. Anyway, I had a fantastic time, and it was full of so many firsts for me. I went on a plane for the first time (and if I do say so myself I was very well behaved). I rolled over for the first time from my tummy to back. At least I think I did…one minute I was looking at the ground and the next minute I was looking at the ceiling and everyone in the room was cheering. Apparently I did something wonderful with that move. But most importantly, I met my Indiana grandparents and aunts and uncles for the first time – it was so fun! Oh! And did I mention that I have hands now?? I don’t know where they have been hiding this whole time, but it turns out that I have two hands that belong to me! I stare at them a lot to make sure they don’t go away. I get a little worried when I sleep that I won’t find them again, but they are still there the next day!
I decided that I would use pictures to share my trip with you and I will post them below so you can live the experience right along with me. If you want to see all of the pictures that Mom and Dad took, you can click on this link here: All of the Indiana Pictures
This is me sleeping with Grandad Steve and Nana Becky. I had a really good time at their house, but I would get tired after parties because they kept playing this new game called, "Pass the Baby" with all the guests.

Our first flight out of San Francisco was at 6:30am, so I barely got out of bed to get on the plane
By the time we got to Indiana I was hot, so they took me out of blankets, but I still kept sleeping.
Grandma Janet gave me this new hat right away. She had told me about it on this blog so I was excited to see it. It kept my head warm even when I was asleep.
This was the first day with Grandad Steve and Aunt Stephanie. I was a little upset in this photo because I couldn't wear the Santa hat they gave me since my head was already too big for it. At least I could keep it on for this photo.
Here I am with Grandma Janet. Grandma and Aunt Stephanie watched me one day when mom and dad went to the movies.
