When The Cat's Away...

Every morning when Mommy and Daddy leave I can always tell that they are a little sad to say bye-bye. I miss them when they are gone, but I also have so much fun with Nanny and Dylan that I don't want them to worry about me too much when they are at work. So, one day, I had this great idea to ask Nanny to start taking pictures of us while our parents are away so that they could see what fun we are having during the day. I can tell that this really cheers up my parents and I'm so happy that Nanny is able to figure out the camera because that was the one thing I just couldn't explain. Sometimes though, I think my idea might be turning against me because she will take photos when we are not expecting it and catches us up in mischief.

"Hey Dylan! Let's have Nanny take pictures of us so we can show
our parents what fun we have!"

We go to the park almost everyday and play on the swings.
(I can swing higher because I'm bigger)

Look Daddy! I'm standing all by myself!!

She caught us practicing our dance moves.
We were hoping to surprise our parents with a little skit later on.

Here, I'm watching Beat Poetry at our local bookstore.
I can't get enough of this stuff.

Nanny snuck up on us and caught us discussing our plans to attack Zimby on the bed.
We were using the pig as our cat model to plan.

He Who Has The Most Toys...

I’m sorry I haven’t written in awhile. I was waiting for some pictures from Grandpa and Nana Smith to post with my blog entry. Grandpa brought the camera down last week and Daddy was so excited to look at the photos that he didn’t download them correctly. I love my dad and everything, but if you’ve ever tried to teach your parents new technology, you know how difficult that can be!

But, even without their photos, I can tell you about the fantastic time I had. Mom and Dad dropped me off at Grandpa and Nana’s house early in the day and then they left me. They said they were going to go play in the wine country for their anniversary. I don’t know what that means, but I can tell you that Nana and Grandpa were super excited to see me. They wanted to play all day long.

At first I was so tired from the trip up that I really wanted to sleep, but I wasn’t used to the bed I was in and there was a loud noise outside. Nana got me out of bed which was a little better but I was still unhappy. I couldn’t decide if I was hungry, or tired, and I didn’t know where my parents were. But then this big yellow Leo came up and licked my legs! That made me laugh so hard I forgot about everything else! After that we all laid on the ground with new toys and sometimes the big dog, her name is Abby, would come see what we were doing and give me a big kiss. She also took a couple of my toys when she thought I wasn’t looking. I don’t mind though, because I slobber on things too. We will have a bunch of fun together.

By the time Mom and Dad came home I was really happy to see them but I was also glad that I could spent time with Grandpa and Nana. Mom, Daddy and I all spent the night in this big bus on their driveway and the next day Grandpa let me sit on his motorcycle. Man – they have a lot of toys!

Oh yeah - did I mention that I like to stand now?

My Grandpa might have a bus and a motorcycle, but I have a wagon!

Who's The Fairest of Them All?

Every morning after I have my first breakfast with Mom in bed I look over at the wall and say hi to my friend. He’s always sitting there smiling back at me and often his mom is sitting there with him smiling at me too. This morning routine makes me happy because I know that my neighbor is awake and happy just like me. Sometimes we also sing the Good Morning Song to each other and our dads will both dance to it. Up until the other day I thought this little boy lived next door to me, but now I’m not so sure. Last weekend I got this big box that has bright colors and things to play with, and that’s when I discovered my little friend lives in the box!! I couldn’t believe my eyes, and kept checking to make sure, but there he was – again and again! This makes me even happier because now I know that when I go places, I’ll be able to take my box, and my friend with me!

Look! There he is!!

I can take him with me wherever I go!!!
