The End of An Era

Today is my 6 month birthday and now I am all grown up. I know this because tomorrow is Dad’s first day back at work. He spent the last 6 weeks at home with me, and before that Mom was home every day. But now they know I’m old enough to be on my own so they will both go back to work. The nice lady who calls me “Hawkobo” is going to stay with me to keep me company.

I had such a great time with my dad. He sure does like to do the same thing everyday, I always knew what to expect. First, we would both help Mom get ready for work in the morning. Then, we would play on my gym mat. Mommy told me exercise was important to Dad and she wasn’t kidding! Dad taught me to stand up, sit up and do pushups. I think pretty soon I’ll be as strong as he is.

But after all that exercise I was sleepy and took my morning nap. After that, Daddy took me out for my first walk of the day. He says they’re good for me. Then when we got back it was airplane time. Daddy flew me around the whole house! We would go up and down and up and down – it was great! Then Dad would stand me up some more until I got sleepy again, and took another nap. After that it was another walk and then more exercise until Mom got home. Then sometimes he would read my favorite story to me, about a sleepy bear and all his friends. That was pretty much my day.

Up, Up and Away!!

There’s only a few things that confuse me. Maybe you can help me out. Whenever Daddy fed me he was always looking at these sheets of paper and saying stuff like, “To be or not to be. That is the question.”, and he was always talking about Denmark and talking to people I couldn’t see named Horatio, and Laertes and Ophelia. What do you think he was talking about? Are we going on a trip sometime, like when we went to Indiana?

The other thing that confused me was that every time he got me up after my nap he was all sweaty. I couldn’t figure this out so one time I asked Mommy to stay home from work and watch him. She took a video for me below. And you know what? I stil don’t really understand what he was doing.

So anyway, that’s the end of my story. I really did like my time with Dad, but like I told them, I’m a big boy now, and I think I can watch after of myself.
