Swim Fan*
My day started out when mom took me to this weird smelly building and started changing me. I didn’t think anything was unusual until she put these weird shorts on me with no diaper. Now I knew something was up.
Well, pretty soon I found out what because we got into this huge bathtub-type thing that mom called a pool. I was a little scared at first but I put on a brave face for mom in case this was her first time in a pool. Another thing that makes it much better than a regular bathtub is that you can bring all of your friends in with you. So along with me and my mom there was Dylan and Dylan’s dad and Dylan’s mom. I don’t know why Leo and Mini and Zimby didn’t come, though. Maybe next time.
It was so much fun. I got to use the kickboard and float on my back. And then at the end I sat on the edge and jumped in! That was great. I didn’t put my head underwater, though. It’s not that I was scared but I didn’t know how Dylan would handle it and I didn’t want him to freak out. That kid’s got so much energy. I remember how I was at that age. Anyway, it was one of my best days in a long time and I hope I get to go back sometime soon. I also hope my dad can come soon because he always does crazy things with me and I don’t think he’d be as scared as mom.

Cats Are Awesome!

She's pretty tricky too though because she will always come sit right behind me when I'm eating on Mommy's lap so that I know she's there, but the angle is too awkward for me to reach around and grab her. At least I can still be close to her.
Zimby is also really cool and will let me pet her sometimes too, but not as often. I don't even think she's even afraid of me, she just plays super cool and likes to watch over me. In fact when I look at pictures from when I was little I can see that they have always been looking after me!

Nanny Share

Actually, it's for this reason I've started to help Nanny out by holding my own bottle sometimes. I figure, if I have to share, then I better make the most of it right? I am older than Dylan so hopefully if I set a good example now, he'll need Nanny less later and then I can have her more. (I'm always thinking a head.)
Sometimes, it is kind of fun to have Dylan around because now there is somebody to hang out on the mat with me. And there is another good thing too -- twice a week I get to stay at Dylan's house and he had cool toys! His exesaucer is way better than mine because it has a mirror where I can see myself. He has another toy too that is like Mini and Zimby, only a little bigger and friendlier. My parents call his toy a "dog" and that dog is great! Pretty soon I'll be able to catch him and pet him.
Now that I think about it, maybe sharing Nanny isn't so bad. I guess I'll give it a little more time before I make my final judgement.

My First Business Trip

We had to take another plane, but I didn’t like this one as much as the last one. The ladies who worked on the plane weren’t as nice and didn’t give me my own seat like the last plane ladies. I even tried crying for a little while to convince them but I finally gave up and just decided to sleep on Mommy’s lap. There wasn’t anything to do anyway.
When we got to Minnesota, Momma didn’t have to work the first day so we all went to this big place called the Mall of America. I was getting kind of tired by this point so I wasn’t too interested, but Mom got really excited about these Backyardigan characters and Lego Dinosaurs that she saw. She told me that I’ll really like this cartoon when I’m a little older and would build many things out of Legos. I don’t think that’s really possible though since the pieces were so small. How am I supposed to grasp and put together two things that are smaller than my hand? (I think Mom is crazy).
Afterwards we went back to the hotel. This was my first time staying in a hotel and I’m not sure that I liked it. I had my own bed, but it wasn’t my OWN bed, if you know what I mean, and it seemed really strange. I had to share a room with Mom and Grandma, but I wasn’t sharing Mom’s bed so I didn’t understand the point. That first night my teeth hurt so bad (I’m getting some teeth on top now) that I kept waking up. And since I wasn’t in my own bed, I kept getting confused and would just scream and scream. Finally I convinced Mommy that it was better if she shared her bed with me. From then on I slept well, except for the time I woke up once more and was confused again.
The next day Mom left for work and I spent the day with Grandma. We hung around the hotel and then Mom came back for lunchtime. After that we went on a walk to Target where Grandma bought me a new book. I was still tired from the night before and took a lot of naps, and, I got used to my hotel bed. Plus I had more space and didn’t have to worry about Mom bumping me so I slept in my own bed and didn’t wake up once the second night.
On the last day Mom went to work again and Grandma and I did the same routine. Mom came home a little early and then we all got ready to go flying again. I fell asleep in the beginning of the flight home, but then I woke up and couldn’t sleep again. I was pretty comfortable though laying on Mommy and Grandma’s laps, and even the lady next to Grandma, so I didn’t mind. I would just talk to them and look at the people who would pass by. This flight seemed really jiggly, especially when Grandma was changing me in the bathroom – it was fun!
It was really nice spending so much time with Grandma – she is very patient and quiet when I’m napping, but when I’m awake she likes to cuddle and always makes sure I’m well fed. Even though I had a fun time with Mom and Grandma, I’m happy to be home again. I missed Daddy and I missed my own bed. When my head hurts because of my teeth, it’s good to be around things I know.
