Hi Everyone!! I bet you thought I forgot about my blog didn't you? Don't worry, I didn't forget about it, but I have been busy with a lot of other things lately. Especially MOVING. Holy moly our house is big. When Mommy and Daddy would carry me from one room to the other I never thought about it, but then when I started crawling from my room to the front door it put it all into perspective for me – it is HUGE. It takes me a long time to crawl across the house, and I remember the first time I did it two weeks ago, I had to set little goals for myself in order to make it. I would roll a ball off of my hand so that it would go a little ways in front of me, and I'd tell myself "I'll just go to the ball, and then I'll stop if I want to". Then I'd get to the ball, and I would take a little break, and
then roll it away again to move further on. A couple of times I wanted to give up, the ball just looked too far away, and I'd turn around to go back to my room. But then Mommy would roll it back a little closer to me so it didn't seem so far. Daddy was with me the whole time to cheer me on too. That first time was the hardest, but since I made it all the way to the front door, then I thought I may as well crawl back right? And I did! Ever since then I've been practicing crawling every day and I'm getting a lot faster (if I do say so myself). In fact now, I don't even need the little ball to set goals for myself. Like today, I crawled to Zimby who was sitting in a box, and I pulled her towards me so I could pat her head.
Although I think crawling is super fun, it doesn't even compare to standing! It makes me feel so tall, and I see more things now. I'm also learning that if I put my foot out that I move forward. I like this a lot better then crawling because I don't get so dirty on the floor. Plus I can take these really giant steps and go a lot faster. I'm glad Mommy and Daddy still like to hold on to me when I walk because I feel like I'm going to topple over. But sometimes I get into a rhythm and think, "I can do this!"
So, I hope you can see that I've been pretty busy lately with all of the crawling, standing and walking practice. I can't wait to tell you about all of the exciting adventures I'm going to have once Mommy and Daddy let me explore on my own. My first plan is to follow the cats into their little room...
This picture was taken early last week when I was still nervous about standing
Welcome to my Big Home!!
Here's a video of me on one of my first walking adventures. I'm not sure why Daddy makes me use the walker when I could just hold on to him.
