The Next Generation in Blogging

Hi!

My Mama has decided to try something new because she thinks we are too busy to write about all of our activities in here. It's too bad too because we had such a wonderful Thanksgiving and Christmas which I really wanted to share with you. But, she's right, I just don't take the time to sit down and write like I used to. So, from now on, if you would like to hear more about me and my family, please visit us at the following link. I won't be writing all the entries in that one, but I hope you still enjoy it. It's sure been fun sharing with you these past three years, I'll miss you!

I Have a Voice

You might think that all I can do is write in my blog, but oh no, I've got a voice too! And I thought it was about time you heard me tell one of my stories directly to you. Mama helped me make this and even I'll admit, it's pretty long. I won't have hurt feelings if you don't make it all the way through.

But, if you really want to know the whole story of how I saw Monster's Ink and the Yink when Grandma and Grandpa took me to that place where we stepped in hay when we got out of the car and when we got into the car, before I was born, then you should pay attention. Because I tell the whole thing right here....

Happy Halloween!!

I'm sorry that it's been so long since I posted an entry, but my baby sister is keeping me very busy these days. Sometimes, when I'm at preschool, I think about posting something, but there are no computers there (they are so 90s!). And then by the time I get home, Daddy just wants to play play play. Finally, when I'm in bed, I think about blogging again, but by then my clock is blue. And when my clock is blue, I'm not allowed to get out of bed.

One night, when I was asleep, Mommy and Daddy made this video of our Halloween fun, and I thought I'd share it with you too. I hope you like it!

Baby S is here!!!

About a week ago my baby sister came out of Mama and was I happy to see her! After all the talk about Baby S for months, it was really nice to finally meet her. And she is CUTE! That’s the first thing I said when I saw her…”She is Cute!” I really like to give her kisses and hold her. I can tell it makes Mama and Daddy nervous when I hold her though because they both get a little tense. They like to pretend like they’re not, but I can tell. Especially Mama…

My sister’s name is Savvy, but I call her Baby S, Baby Sister or Honey. I have to tell you, she doesn’t really do much right now… she only eats and sleeps. Mama says she eats “mama’s milk” but I’m a little confused by this. Every time she eats, she’s lying on Mama’s lap, so I can’t understand how Mama’s feeding her exactly. Although today I saw Mama’s “boobie” and that made a little more sense. But just a little more sense.

Every time Baby S does anything, and I mean anything, Mama always says “you used to do that Jingle”, as if I’m supposed to remember all the things I did so long ago. I’m happy that Baby S doesn’t do too much though, because it means that I still get Daddy’s attention most of the time. He’s been home from work ever since Baby S came out, and we play A LOT together. My favorite game is “animals” and that’s where we make up big adventures for all of my animals. Well, I make up the adventures, and Daddy comes along for the journey. I get up super early every morning to wake Daddy up so we can start playing. Mama stays in bed longer with Baby S. I really love my Daddy time.

In the afternoons we’ve been taking family naps together and that’s fun too. When Mama, Daddy and Baby S are sleeping at the same time as me, then I know I’m not missing anything. When we wake up we all watch Dora together. Lately Mama has been asking to watch a different show, although I don’t understand how anyone can get tired of Dora. I mean, I can watch the episodes over and over and over again and never get tired of them. But, when Mama looks really desperate, then I’ll let her watch Diego for a change. You see, I can be very thoughtful.

Our First Family Nap Together

Right before we wake up to watch Dora

The past couple of days I’ve been sick and have thrown up. Although I don’t like throwing up, it’s actually not so bad, because then I get to watch even more TV then usual and Mama and Daddy are super patient with me. We even saw some movies. I saw one about Dinosaurs one day, and another day, Daddy really wanted to watch Finding Nemo, but after about a half hour, I made him turn it off because it was too scary. I tried to get them to watch Dora instead, but Mama had that desperate look again, so I agreed to Sesame Street for a change.

Baby S doesn’t seem to care what we watch since she’s just eating or sleeping. I hope when she gets older that she likes Dora as much as I do. Then we can watch it together and I can talk to her about all of the adventures.

I’m very lucky to have such a cute little sister. I have to go now and give her another kiss.

This is the first time I met Baby S when Grandma and Grandpa took me to the hospital. She was CUTE!

Here's a video of the first time I got to sit next to my Baby Sister:

I like it when Baby Sister gets to lay in bed with me while Mama and Daddy read a story

I hope she doesn't get tired of my kisses, because I have a lot to give!

The Ring Bearer

This past weekend we did something I’ve never done before…we went to a wedding! My Aunt Stacy married Kevin, which now means that I have another Uncle. Which I think is so cool! But I have to admit, I didn’t always feel that way…

A couple weeks before the wedding Mama and Daddy kept talking about it a lot…”Stacy & Kevin special day…blah blah blah” “Ranch…blah..Wedding…” “Rings; Pillows… Special Outfit…” STOP, HOLD UP. “What was this about a special outfit?!” That last part got my alarm bells ringing. Grandma came over with a fancy outfit that everyone was sooo excited about, but no one bothered to ask me if I wanted to wear it (which I didn’t). And then, my parents got me cowboy boots which they thought were so cool (and even though I did too) I wouldn’t admit it since they didn’t ask me first. So, even though the ranch part sounded pretty neat, I didn’t understand what all the fuss was about.

One night Mama made me stomp around in my boots holding this pillow-type thing with paper-clips tied to it and would say, “Okay, walk to me! Now hand me the rings!” (What rings Mama? They’re paper-clips!) But, she was so excited I felt like it was right to make her happy.

When we got up to the ranch on Saturday it was really cold and rainy, and there were lots of people all around. They all seemed to know who I was, even though I didn’t know everyone I was meeting. I started to feel like a celebrity, and that this whole weekend was about me. But every time I would try to prove it was about me, Mama would tell me that it was not about me, that this was Aunt Stacy’s Big Day, not Jingles! (No offense Aunt Stacy, but what makes you so special?)

On that first day, Grandma wanted to practice this ring business with me too. “Ok, hold this pillow (which was nicer, but still had no rings) and walk this way”. You might think I’m joking here, but I’ve got video to prove it.

Then, the next day was the OFFICIAL WEDDING DAY and I could tell everyone was excited. We got up early and had breakfast, went fishing, and then after that Daddy went horseback riding. We went to watch him and his horse “Dolly” for little while, and I know Mama wanted me to get on a pony too, but I just wasn’t in the mood. Instead we went up for a snack, and then Mama said we should take an early nap because this “Big Day” was ahead of us.

After the nap, we all took showers, and while I was distracted with the iPhone game, Mama dressed me up in that special outfit I told you about earlier. Gah! No! I made them take the vest and the tie off, but they were so stubborn about making me keep my shirt and pants on. What was the big deal with this outfit anyway!? But, then I saw that Mama and Daddy were getting all dressed up too, I mean, Mama looked like a girl! She was wearing a dress! And Daddy looked pretty awesome in his vest and tie, so I figured what the heck. They weren’t melting from their clothes, so I probably wouldn’t either. I even agreed to the cowboy boots.

Once we got outside, I suddenly understood the big deal. You should have seen the attention that I got! Grandma and Grandpa were so proud of me, and everyone said how cute I looked (I had to correct them and tell them I was handsome – I’d expect Grown-Ups to know better) and suddenly I appreciated this special outfit.

We went to take pictures with Aunt Stacy and soon-to-be Uncle Kevin, and when I saw how pretty she looked, then I understood why it was her day and not mine. I mean, I might be the Prince, but she was the Queen.

Grandpa and The Queen

We went to practice with that silly pillow again, only this time it had rings on it, and the mystery man I was supposed to hand them to – Duffy – he was there too, so it finally started to make sense. Although, unlike the day before, there were a lot of chairs there, and some mention of ‘people will be sitting’ and I didn’t quite like the sound of that.

So, here’s how it went down… I was too nervous to walk down that aisle with all those people so I made Daddy carry me. At first, I didn’t like that either, but we started to walk with Grandma (who looked like a Purple Princess) down the aisle and when I saw Mama at the front smiling and all pretty, it made me smile and get excited. I started to use that pillow to waive to her and other people, because I wanted to make sure they saw me! Then we went to the front row like we had practiced and I sat down between Mama and Daddy. But I was so excited to be there, it was hard to contain my words. But my parents told me that I shouldn’t speak and we should listen to Duffy, Stacy and Kevin at the front. But when I couldn’t speak, then I had to do something to share my excitement so I threw the pillow at Grandma since I knew how much she liked it. That made Grandma and Mama do this strange silent laugh, while Daddy pretended to be angry at me, but silently. And then, I heard Duffy say those magic words… “Jingle, can you please bring me the rings?” and suddenly I remembered my job, and I ran up there all by myself to hand him the pillow with the rings. I did it!!

And just when I thought that was the coolest part, I saw about 100 horses run up the hill behind Stacy and Kevin. Luckily, the ceremony ended about that time, so Daddy and I ran off to the horse stables to see what was going on down there.

The rest of the day kind of passed in a blur. There was food, and lots of people, but I just wanted to play with Daddy. I was also getting tired of being all dressed up, so Daddy and I went back to change and take a Dora break. When we returned, it was dinner time and then after that Mama and Daddy left me with some other kids to play and they went off for a little bit. I thought when they picked me up, they would take me to bed, but they surprised me and took me dancing! This made me very happy, because I had told Mama that I wanted to dance and I thought that they forgot. But, they didn’t, and I danced in a big group for the very first time ever!

The rest of the party was a blur

Bustin' a Move

Dear Aunt Stacy and Uncle Kevin,

Thank you for throwing such a big party and planning a fun weekend at the ranch. I had a lot more fun then I expected, and don’t tell Mama and Daddy, but I even enjoyed getting dressed up. Stacy, you were pretty like a Queen, and Kevin, I will admit – that you looked even handsomer than I did.

Love, Jingle

The Big Move

We moved! And I don’t mean moved from the kitchen to the bedroom, I mean moved from one house to another! I can’t say that I was surprised by the actual move, but I can tell you that I was confused. For about a month, Mama and Daddy kept putting stuff in boxes. Things would disappear off of shelves and boxes would pile up around me. Then, we kept going to see this house over and over with a woman named Jess. I didn’t understand why Jess lived in such an empty house and why Mama and Daddy kept visiting her there. Then they told me we were going to leave my old green house and move to this new brown house, but I didn’t understand why we would go live with Jess. I mean she was nice and all, but I think Mama and Daddy had just met her. If they wanted to live with someone, why wouldn’t we just move in with Grandma?

But, I “went with the flow” (why? Why is a flow?) and one day a big truck came and took everything from our old house to our new house. But guess what! Jess wasn’t there anymore! Instead we got a new roommate named Maja. Maja is Mama’s friend who was visiting from England and she was my new roommate. It was a great first week in the new house. Maja played with me a lot and Mommy and Daddy were home a lot from work. The boxes were going from towers to forts, and it didn’t matter how much mess I made because there was always more mess that I didn’t make.

Something else fun happened that first week… we got to take all of our clothes to a place called the “Laundromat” to wash one day. I liked that place because I got to put lots of quarters into the machines and Mama and Daddy let me do that all by myself, and then we went across the street and had a cookie. I couldn’t wait to go back to the Laundromat again, but it turns out that was a one-time only event. Ever since then we do our laundry downstairs at the new house which isn’t as fun. Our machines don’t take quarters.

After the first week I learned that Maja was going back to her own home, and she wasn’t going to be my roommate after all. Now it’s just Mama, Daddy, Mini, Zimby and I in the house just like before. I have found a lot of my toys and most of my books, although some things are still in boxes, but that’s okay because every day I find something new to play with! Here are some things I like about the house:

1. I have my own table in the kitchen

2. I can reach the fork and spoon drawer and now I help unload the dishwasher

3. There are stairs

4. There is grass in the backyard, and a lot of plants that I can water

5. There are no curtains so it’s not dark when I go to bed*

6. Mama now drives me to daycare instead of walking me there. It’s very relaxing.

7. I have my own lawnmower and vacuum!

8. Grandpop comes over a lot to fix stuff. I’m not sure what type of stuff he’s fixin, but it’s nice to see him.

9. I can waive to the neighbors when I’m eating at the dining room table*

*Mama told me to tell you that since I wrote my list, we now have window coverings. So, technically, #5 and #9 are no longer very exciting to me.

Me and Maja - My roommate for the first week

I don't think Mama was supposed to see this picture that Daddy took of me lying on our new mantle. But I think it's important for you to see that I was the inspiration for the next photo!

Like Father, Like Son - don't you agree??

Worn out from the move, but happy to be at our new home!

Mama and Daddy say that this is supposed to be a bookshelf, but I ask Why??
It's a perfect spot just for me!

Baby Sister Hypothesis

About a month ago I started watching a new show called “Dinosaur Train” and it is very great. It has Dinosaurs AND Trains. Two of my favorite things! I love riding trains and I want to be a dinosaur when I grow up. One of my favorite dinosaurs on the show is a T-Rex named Buddy. Buddy is really smart and is always making hypothesis about other dinosaurs. Like, why some have horns, why some have feathers and why some only have three toes. “Hypothesis” is what dinosaurs call “ideas”.

Lately I’ve had a lot of hypothesis of my own, so I think my chances are good of becoming a dinosaur. My mama has a Baby Sister in her belly, and I have a Big Brother in my belly. I think when Baby Sister comes out, Big Brother will come out too. I have other hypothesis too that I share with Mama, but it’s hard to tell if I’m right when talking to her. She usually just smiles, raises her eyebrow and says “oh, really?” and sometimes, she’ll tell Daddy what I said. Like today, I told her that Baby Sister would blow out of her real soon. She said “oh, really? How?” So, I told her that a big wind would blow her out. She smiled really big and then shouted to daddy in the other room, “Jingle just said that a Big Wind is going to blow Baby Sister out of me soon!” The funny thing was Daddy responded the same way.. “oh, really?!” Does that mean my hypothesis is right??

I have another hypothesis that Mama always disagrees with, but this time I know that I’m right. Baby Sister needs batteries. Mama asked me why she needs batteries and I told her that she needs batteries to walk. Mama said that babies don’t need batteries and anyway Baby Sister isn’t ready to walk yet. I carefully explained that of course Baby Sister needs batteries, because all robots need batteries. (Duh?)

I’m not exactly sure when the big wind will blow Baby Sister out,

but Big Brother will be ready with his batteries!
